Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup red lentils
- 1/2 onion, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup vermicelli noodles
- 2 cups water
- 2 bouillon cubes
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce.
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- cooking spray
- Put lentils in a pan and cover with water.
- Set stove to medium heat and let hem soak for about 10 minutes.
- While that is going on, set another 2 quart pan on another burner and spray with nonstick spray. Let oil get hot and add the chopped onion and the vermicelli and stir until browned.
- Pour the red lentils into a strainer to get rid of the soaking water. and add to the onion mixture. Continue stirring.
- Add 2 cups water and the bouillon cubes.
- Cook for 10 more minutes over medium heat.
- Add the Worcestershire sauce and peas, and season to taste with salt and pepper.
